5th annual Westend Pottery Sale

Twenty potters have been busy preparing for The Westend Pottery Sale, this year being held the week -end after Easter.  This is usually my first sale of the new year.  It's a nice way to welcome spring, with all the new growth and promise of new beginnings.  Just as the new sprouts that we will hopefully soon see pushing through the earth can inspire and encourage us, new artistic directions and creative processes also inspire.  This year I haven't had quite as much time as I would have liked to pursue some of those ideas that are still percolating, but then, not everything grows quickly....just have to keep nurturing those slow growers!

Here's a recent article in the Glebe Report about the sale:

NEW large yarn bowls

All you knitters & crocheters have been asking for larger yarn bowls, so I've made some.  The yellow/green one on the right is the smaller version; the blue/green on the left is the new larger one.

Presto chango!

I've been making some more landscape platters--the top one has been glazed, one colour at a time, by masking off each area and spraying the glaze.  The trees are created by spraying through paper cut-outs made for each platter.  If you're not familiar with how glazes change when fired in a kiln, it can seem like a miraculous transformation!
